Christie’s offers historic sports memorabilia in a wide range of live and online auctions. From baseball’s storied roots to important sneakers and game-used items from some of history's most inspiring athletes, we bring storytelling to the forefront through important collection sales and masterpiece individual lots.

Christie’s has offered storied collections which reflect an individual collector’s deep passion for a specific sport or game, including The Origins of Golf: The Jaime Ortiz-Patiño Collection, to the 2020 The Sir Geoffrey Boycott Collection of Cricket, and the 2017/2018 series of sales The Golden Age of Baseball for The National Pastime Museum.

Christie’s has partnered with Hunt Auctions to offer single-owner collections of top baseball memorabilia, including the 2020 sale Home Plate and the 2021 live and online sales Extra Innings, which achieved a world record price for a signed sports photo with a 1911 “Shoeless” Joe Jackson selling for $1,470,000.

In recent seasons, Christie’s has collaborated with Roger Federer on a sale celebrating his historic achievements, which realised over $3,000,000 to benefit the RF Foundation, and sold Lionel Messi’s record-breaking boots for £125,000.

Elizabeth Seigel is a Vice President, Specialist, Head of Private and Iconic Collections in New York. She joined Christie’s King Street in 2011, and in 2012 moved to New York as a specialist across Decorative Arts, focusing on English and European furniture, tapestries, porcelain and 19th century decorative arts. Since joining the Private and Iconic Collections team in 2015 she has helped to coordinate the landmark collections of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth, President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan, Betsy Bloomingdale, Joan Rivers, Peggy and David Rockefeller, Jayne Wrightsman and Andre Leon Talley. Additionally, she has headed successful single owner sports memorabilia sales, such as Selections from the Geddy Lee Collection and Important Baseball Memorabilia. Liz recently helped guide The Ann and Gordon Getty Collection, a suite multiple cross-category sales, which garnered over $200 million for philanthropy and Rothschild Masterpieces, which tripled its low estimate raising over $60 million.

Liz graduated from Cornell University magna cum laude, and received her Master of Letters with distinction from Christie’s Education, London.

Nathalie Ferneau is a junior specialist in the Private and Iconic collections department. She has acted as head of sale for exciting Iconic sales such as The Collection of André Leon Talley (2023), The Collection of Sir Elton John: Goodbye Peachtree Road (2023) and most recently Unapologetically Iris: The Collection of Iris Apfel (2025). Nathalie has also contributed to landmark collection sales such as The Ann and Gordon Getty Collection (2022-2023) and Gen One: Innovations from the Paul G. Allen Collection (2024).

Prior to joining the Private and Iconic team, Nathalie worked in the Christie’s Antiquities department. She holds a BA in Classical Archaeology from Dartmouth College.

Amelia Walker is a Senior Specialist and Specialist Head of the Private & Iconic Collections department, with over 20 years of experience in the organisation and sale of multi-category private, iconic and country house collections. Most recently playing an integral role in the record-breaking sales of The Jim Irsay Collection, Amelia has overseen many landmark sales including Jeff Beck: The Guitar Collection (2025), The Mark Knopfler Guitar Collection (2024), The Robin & Rupert Hambro Collection (2023), the Collection of Lord and Lady Weinstock (2022), Sir Nicholas Goodison (2022), Robert de Balkany (2017), A Surreal Legacy (2016), Sting and Trudie Styler (2015), and many others. Amelia is interested in all aspects of collecting, including fine and decorative art from antiquity to the contemporary, as well as music, film, sports and entertainment memorabilia.
