A PAIR OF GILT-METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN DARK-BLUE-GROUND OVIFORM VASES AND COVERS painted by A. Hazel with gentlemen in 18th Century dress paying court to seated ladies in idyllic wooded gardens with distant châteaux, the reverses with lakeside châteaux, the covers, necks and stems richly gilt with chains of rococo-scrolls, trellis-pattern and flowers, mounted with pine-cone finials, foliate-scroll bands at the rims, two upturned scroll handles suspending tasselled rings and fixed laurel-wreaths, on beaded supports terminating in bands of leaves encircling the lower bodies, on shaped square bases cast with laurel-wreaths, artist's signatures, covers with imitation blue interlaced L marks, circa 1880
