Turner Patent Talbotype, five signed F.Griffith and/or initialled F.G., six titled, one dated July 1863 and with technical details and five numbered in ink/pencil on verso; with one other waxed paper negative, 8 x 10 in., dated Nov. 15. 57 and annotated [?Buckle], possibly a reference to Buckle's negative process. A member of the Public Works Department, Francis R. Griffith was an amateur photographer who took architectural and topographical photographs during his travels in the course of his work in the later 1850s.
