Including forty identified 'Castes at Saugor', Indian tribesmen, soldiers, Burmese and Indian servants, family groups, men and women, portraits of officers of the 5th Madras Native Infantry serving in Burma, their wives and families, Burmese architectural and landscape studies including pagodas and ruins and views of military encampments in 'Thayetmyo' where the 5th MNI was stationed from December 1862.

This is probably the work of a capable amateur who appears to have been serving with the 5th Madras Native Infantry..
