Album containing forty-three cartes-de-visite, majority with printed credits Hurry Chintamon, Bombay, seven with Bourne & Shepherd and two with J. B. Patell, Bombay credits, occasional titles in pencil on verso, silk-backed carved sandlewood boards and spine depicting flowers and birds with ivory onlay edges, g.e., oblong 8vo.

Including portraits of H. H. Raja of Kolopoor, H. H. Begum of Bhopal, H. H. Ameer Sherally of Cabool (sic), Dr. Bhow Dajee, Sir Madava Row, Sir Salar Jung of Hyderabad, Mungaldap Nathoobhow; six portraits of native women and a portrait of a butler.

Chintamon attended the Government-sponsored photography class at the Elphinstone Institution, Bombay in 1855 and won the prize for best photograph at the end of the year. He was a member of the Bombay Photographic Society in the mid-1850s, and a series of his portraits of tribes and castes were shown at the Paris International Exhibition of 1867. He practised as a commercial photographer in Bombay from the mid-1850s and the business continued to be listed until c.1881.
