拍賣簡介
Christie’s Art d’Asie auction in Paris on 10 June 2026 brings together a distinguished selection of works from French and European private collections, spanning Chinese works of art, classical and modern paintings, Japanese art and Himalayan sculpture. Leading the sale is a rare monumental gilt-bronze figure of a Karmapa lineage master dating from the 15th century, remarkable for its scale, presence and devotional significance.
Another major highlight is an exceptional impression of Hokusai’s celebrated Great Wave, from a French private collection, with provenance traceable to the late 19th century and carrying a prestigious historical pedigree. The sale further includes an important and rare Ming-dynasty painting depicting Guanyin in male form, dated 1568, a striking example of northern Buddhist painting traditions and Shuilu iconography.
The auction features a refined selection of ceramics and works of art from the collection of the late Michel Duchange, a prominent French dealer in Chinese art, including a rare and important boxwood figure of Shakyamuni as an ascetic from the Yuan dynasty (1279–1368), alongside a carefully assembled group of scholar’s objects and an elegant ensemble of imperial carved red lacquer wares, all from French private collections. Chinese classical and modern paintings from French and European private hands complete this rich panorama of Asian art, notably including a beautiful painting depicting a seated lady by Lin Fengmian from an English private collection.
A significant Himalayan art section includes three finely painted thangkas depicting Vajrayogini, Tara and Hayagriva from a Belgian private collection, as well as an important gilt-copper alloy figure of Vajradhara, Tibet, 14th century, from a European private collection.
Christie’s Paris will also present the online sale Art of China from 29 May to 12 June, with the works exhibited alongside the live auction in the Christie’s Paris viewing rooms.
