Circular box with sealing-wax case and knife, the independent cover of the bonbonnière enamelled en plein with a young couple in Renaissance costume at an Altar of Love, within a split-pearl-set border with blue enamel surround, the sides and base engine-turned with a vertical zig-zag pattern and enamelled in translucent green, within borders of gold ribbons on a blue enamelled ground with white pellets, the base centred with a blue and white enamelled rosette (59 mm. diam.), the slightly tapering gold sealing-wax case of oval section, both sides of cover and base enamelled with oval medallions of estuary landscapes (one replaced by an engraved crowned coat-of-arms) surrounded by flowers and leaves on a reeded ground, the top similarly enamelled, the borders engraved with a ribbon-twist band (111 mm. high), the gold knife with a handle engine-turned and enamelled en suite (178 mm. long), within a fitted original shaped red morocco case with gilt-stamped decoration, silk and velvet lining
