A WHITE 'JULUXIAN' JAR AND A COVER
Jar, Northern Song Dynasty
The compressed globular body cursorily scored with indentations at mid-section and covered on the exterior with a finely crazed transparent glaze continuing over the upright mouth rim and ending just below mid-body to expose a white slip and the fine-grained grayish-buff ware; the shallow domed cover with everted rim and pinched stem finial of Tang dynasty date; together with a small white stoneware conical cup, Northern Song dynasty, the flared sides sharply angled at their base and incised with five vertical lines rising to corresponding notches in the everted rim, covered with a clear glaze; and a small bottle vase, Ming dynasty, the yellow-glazed chilong crawling around the tall tapering neck reserved against the now degraded and iridesced buff glaze of the body
