26 April 1789: "From Nathan ascended a very high mountain from which we had a glorious view of the Snowy ones" The view near Daramundy was sketched on their way back from Srinagar on 3 May 1789:"The figures ...represent the Highland merchants on their way from the plains where they have been bartering the produce of their hills for salt, copper vessels, linen and other wares" (Thomas Daniell).
