ENCIRCLED KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

The finely potted sides delicately enamelled in soft tones with a pair of sparsely flowering bare-branched wintersweet trees (lamei) and lingzhi fungus above short grasses picked-out in underglaze-blue, representing the twelfth month, the reverse with a long inscription--2 1/2in. (6.4cm.) diam.

The inscription reads Jingying cuinou dai chunhan, haungse huazhong you jiban, which may be translated as: Spring frost adorns the golden flowers and the verdant stem. But tell me, just how many yellow blossoms flower at this time?
