Fulvio Bianconi, Vase a Macchie pour Venini
Le travail de Bianconi en tant qu’illustrateur et caricaturiste s’inscrit toujours dans le langage stylistique du Surréalisme, mais de nouvelles références à l’art pictographique ancien, ainsi qu’à l’art moderne abstrait apparaissent dans la série a Macchie. Si la forme étirée de l’oiseau, parfois identifié comme une grue (Gru), est simplement tracés à grands traits en verre lattimo et en verre améthyste sombre, elle n’en parvient pas moins à capturer l’essence d’un oiseau élancé, regardant par-dessus son épaule au loin. Bianconi offre ici au spectateur une image à la fois ludique et enfantine, mais aussi élégante et calligraphique. Contrairement à ses séries très colorées et richement décorées pour Venini, les œuvres a Macchie sont des pieces produites en nombre très limité. Ce modèle est particulièrement rare, seuls quelques exemplaires authentifiés sont référencés.

Bianconi’s work as an illustrator and caricaturist always embraced the stylistic language of Surrealism, but in the a Macchie series we see new references to both ancient pictographic and abstract Modern art. The elongated bird-form, which is sometimes identified as a Crane (Gru) is simply drawn in lattimo and dark amethyst glass, yet it manages to capture the essence of a tall, lanky bird looking over it’s shoulder into the distance. Here Bianconi offers the viewer an image that is playful and childlike, but also elegant and calligraphic. Unlike Bianconi’s brightly colored, highly patterned series for Venini, the a Machine are individual works of art produced in very limited numbers, and this model is particularly rare, with only a few authentic examples known.
