Introduced in 2000 and produced until 2006, the reference 5110 World Time stands among the most sophisticated and practical expressions of the travel watch tradition of Patek Philippe. Painstakingly crafted on a traditional rose engine, its dial features an exquisitely executed guilloché center that creates a deeply textured motif that elegantly captures and reflects light. A ring with 24 cities, each of which represents one of the major time zones in the world, surrounds the dial. The reference 5110 is an essential travel companion thanks to its cleverly designed pusher at 10 o'clock, which allows the wearer to instantly change the time zone while simultaneously advancing the hour hand and rotating the city disk.
At the heart of the watch beats the self-winding caliber 240⁄188, distinguished by its 22K yellow gold micro-rotor. Thanks to its design, the movement can continue to be incredibly thin while still having effective winding performance. The movement is finished to the exacting standards of haute horlogerie, featuring elegant Côtes de Genève, finely executed hand-beveled anglage, and mirror-polished steel components.
Reference 5110 holds a significant position in the history of Patek Philippe's world time watches, which were first created in the 1930s in partnership with renowned watchmaker Louis Cottier, combining mechanical inventiveness with classic design. Many people now consider the model to be a modern classic, appreciating its sophisticated, harmonious design as well as its technical prowess.
