The circular stand with floral swags and on four foliage capped scroll legs with shell feet, with four detachable shaped circular dishes and a conforming central dish, each chased with foliage scrolls on a matted ground and engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on frame and under each dish, further engraved under the central dish with a scratchweight '129=0'

The arms are those of Welby impaling Cholmeley for William Welby (1710-1792) and his wife, Catherine (1709-1773), daughter of James Cholmeley of Easton and his wife Catherine Woodfine, whom he married in 1731.
