Oblong and on four cast lion rampant feet, the sides with two drop-ring handles, the hinged cover with a later silver-gilt finial in the form of a cockerel, with eight oil compartments, the detachable servant lamp with beaded and grotesque mask-capped handle, marked inside base and cover
