A YELLOW-GROUND FAMILLE ROSE 'MEDALLION' BOWL
DAOGUANG UNDERGLAZE BLUE SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
With deep rounded sides rising to a flaring rim, the bowl is supported on a short foot. Reserved on a yellow sgraffiato ground, the exterior is delicately painted with four medallions enclosing sprigs of flowers and lingzhi fungus, interspersed with fruiting peach branches with wan-character emblems. The interior is decorated in underglaze blue with further sprigs of flowers, lingzhi fungus, rockwork and breaking waves.
