The bulbous body is finely enamelled with large peony blooms and buds, all borne on gnarled stems growing beside rocks, and the flaring neck is decorated with lotus scrolls reserved on a yellow ground. Each side has been applied with a monster-mask handle, picked out in blue enamel. The base has an apocryphal Qianlong iron-red seal mark.
