A BERLIN ORMOLU-MOUNTED PALISTANDER ROSEWOOD AND MARQUETRY COMMODE of bombé shape, attributed to Johann Friedrich Spindler, with later moulded sepentine liver marble top, above two drawers inlaid sans traverse with three floral bouquets each within a scrolled foliate ormolu cartouche headed by a scrolled pierced escutcheon cast with flowerheads and rockwork, the waved apron formerly with ormolu band, between keeled angles mounted with pierced clasps cast with acanthus scrolls, flowerheads and cabochon, the sides with conforming decoration, on cabriole legs with scrolled pierced sabots, lacking mounts to tops of back legs, one sabot with break, circa 1763
