A GILT-METAL-MOUNTED VIENNA (FRANZ DÖRFL) TEA-KETTLE AND COVER of globular form, the burnished gilt ground tooled with C-scrolls and painted by A. Wenz with two scenes of classical figures entitled Augustus schliefst den Janus tempel and Constantin verk d. Christenthum, between seeded gilt bands and dark-blue borders enriched with gilt scrolls, anthemion, seeds and key-pattern, the cover with an acorn finial and the swing handle with hinged mounts cast as dolphins (very minor wear to gilding), artist's signature, blue printed marks and red script, pattern numbers 1747 and 1748, circa 1900
