A PAIR OF GILT-METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN OVIFORM VASES AND SHALLOW DOMED COVERS, the dark-blue grounds enriched with gilt basket-weave pattern and reserved with Watteauesque scenes of lovers in gardens painted en camaieu rose within ciselé gilt oval outlines, the reverses similarly painted with watery landscapes, mounted with beaded metal rims and shaped-square bases cast with laurel-wreaths (one finial restuck, tiny crack to inside flange of one cover, minor wear to gilding), one with indistinct artist's signature, blue imitation interlaced L marks, circa 1880
