George Johnson was employed at the factory from the 1880's until 1933; he specialised in bird-painting, including game and also exotic birds such as storks and flamingoes

A PAIR OF ROYAL WORCESTER TAPERING OVIFORM EWERS with trefoil lips, painted by G. Johnson on an azure ground with four swans in flight before a cluster of reeds and beside an iron-red and gilt flowering plant, the reverses with swallows in flight, the green scroll handles enriched in powdered gilding and with forked terminals extending to form moulded scrolling foliage encircling the cream shoulders, edged in green and gilding, on a flared moulded foot, artist's signatures, puce printed marks and model numbers 1309, date codes for circa 1909
