Boucher with pastoral scenes of children in idyllic rural landscape, one with a girl seated with a bird's nest in her lap, taken by a boy from a tree and with a girl seated beside a water-trough at the side, the other with a boy picking cherries from a tree, being collected by a girl in her apron, a girl and a donkey-cart at the side, within ciselé gilt oval cartouches outlined with foliate-scrolls, trellis-pattern and caillouté, the reverses with thatched buildings in watery landscapes, the necks, covers and stems gilt with wreaths of flowers and palm-fronds, mounted with pinecone finials, scrolling leaf handles, leaves encircling the lower bodies and on shaped square bases, artist's signatures, imitation blue interlaced L marks, circa 1895
