A GIL-METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN TURQUOISE AND WHITE-GROUND VASE AND COVER painted by Guilleman with a gentleman seated reciting poetry to a lady and her attendant in a misty garden landscape, within an elaborate gilt cartouche, the reverse with a mountainous lakescape, mounted with a pine-cone finial, a beaded rim, two scroll handles suspending rings and fixed laurel-wreaths, on beaded supports terminating in a collar around the lower body, on a shaped square base cast with a laurel-wreath (wear to gilding), artist's signature, blue interlaced L and France mark, circa 1900, 38½ in. (98cm.) high
