A LOUIS XVI BRASS-MOUNTED AND EBONY-INLAID MAHOGANY CYLINDER BUREAU
The rectangular superstructure with pierced three-quarter trellis gallery above three panelled drawers divided by brass panels, the roll-top enclosing a fitted interior with green velvet-lined writing-slide surmounted by six variously-sized panelled drawers and three simulated drawers divided by plain brass panels, above a central drawer and a kneehole flanked by two short drawers on one side and a deep drawer, simulated as two drawers and enclosing fitted compartments and a coffre-fort to the other, on turned fluted tapering legs with brass caps, repair to the underside of the writing-surface, minor losses to brass, probably originally with a marble top and replaced with a mahogany top in the 19th Century
