With a pierced serpentine crest rail and later central splat carved with an armorial shield, on a foliate rocaille frame with close-nailed embossed leather seat and cabriole legs with claw and ball feet (restorations)
The coats-of-arms are those of Raphael Valentin Valdivieso y Zanãrtu, Archbishop of Santiago du Chile from 4 October 1847 to 8 June 1878. He was born in Santiago du Chile in 1804 and died in 1878. His family was originally from Spain and settled on the island of Madeira.
