A VICTORIAN SILVER THREE-LIGHT CANDELABRUM CENTERPIECE
LONDON, 1836, MAKER'S MARK OF THE BARNARD BROS.

On shaped spreading circular base, raised on three massive sweeping acanthus scroll and flowerhead feet, with three acanthus and scroll cartouches between engraved three times with a coat-of-arms, crest and motto, rising to a flaring acanthus calyx from which issue three removable sweeping acanthus scroll branches with acanthus drip-pans below vase-shaped leaf-clad fluted sockets with removable acanthus nozzles, and acanthus scroll central standard draped with openwork acanthus supporting three flowerhead socket stoppers enclosing an openwork acanthus basket with faceted cut glass dish, the scalloped sides formed as anthemion, alternating with a central acanthus stem supporting a similar drip-pan, socket and nozzle, fully marked--24 3/4in.
