LONDON, 1876, MAKER'S MARK OF JOHN FRASER & EDWARD HAWS

Of oval vase-shaped form, raised on paw feet headed by acanthus scrolls and flutes, the spirally fluted body elaborately repousse, chased and applied at each end with winged female terms enclosed by sweeping acanthus scrolls below applied winged putti enclosing, on each side, a vacant scroll cartouche, the neck applied with a strapwork and circle band applied with a chain link below chased winged putti playing a musical instrument and singing in a landscape, the flat-hinged cap engraved with a presentation inscription, marked under base and on cap--13 1/4in. (34cm.) high
