APPARENTLY HANOVER-NEUSTADT, MID-18TH CENTURY, MAKER'S MARK IC OVER VL

Of oval form, the sides and slip-on domed cover with lobed panels, prick engraved under base R.E.S and later engraved Am VII September MDCCLXXIII and C.B.n.B., 1815 below a coronet, marked under base with town mark of lion rampant in shaped punch and maker's mark, the base and cover also struck with Preussen control marks (Rosenberg 3 4423)--4in. (10.1cm.) long
