A MINO GOTO TSUBA
MOMOYAMA PERIOD (CIRCA 1600)
The oval shakudo nanako plate has an overall raised design of a cherry tree with hanging branches and many gold blooms that extend over the edge to repeat the design on the reverse. The hitsu-ana have gold cat-scratched plugs--height 7.4cm., width 7.1cm., thickness 5.75mm.
Wood storage box with inscription by Sato Kanzan dated Showa 49 (1974). Accompanied by a tokubetsu kicho certificate issued by the N.B.T.H.K., no. 140, dated Showa 46 (1971), Honbu shinsa (Tokyo shinsa).
