A modern reproduction 2-inch diameter terrestrial pocket globe,
made up of twelve blue and yellow colour reproduced gores after a mid-twentieth century original, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours, the prime meridian and equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the continents in orange and with little detail beyond some country names and rivers (small paper repair to South Pole) with two steel axis pins, in a turned and stained pine box with colour reproduced horizon ring showing days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac and compass points, the base with gilt edging, the lid with a gilt band, the interior of both with ebonised hemispherical recess for the globe, the lid applied with a colour reproduced image of an unusual "curved" projection of the Americas and the Atlantic Ocean, with part of the Pacific and part of Africa and Europe -- 2 7/8in. (7.3cm.) high; and a PHILIPS' PLANISPHERE by George Philip & Son Ltd, London, early 20th Century, the card star chart designed for latitude 35° South and showing constellations depicted by lines joining the stars to five magnitudes, the outside with days of the month and of the houses of the Zodiac, hours and degrees, held within the gilt-decorated leatherette-covered card sleeve, graduated around the outside in hours 1-12 (x2) and with suspension hole, the reverse applied with printed paper instructions for use -- 12¼in.
