Circa 1740
Modelled by J.J. Kändler as a hen seated on an oval basket with two chicks perched on her back, she with iron-red comb and wattles, gilt beak and iron-red, turquoise, green, purple and black plumage, her wing and tail feathers enriched with gilding, the chicks with gilt markings to their heads, white backs, turquoise, purple and gilt wing feathers and iron-red, green, yellow and purple tails, the white reeded basket with ozier moulding (minute restored chip to comb, very slight restoration to hen's beak and slight hairline crack to underside of one chick)
