A SOUTH GERMAN FRUITWOOD, AMARANTH AND PARQUETRY GAMES-TABLE
Mid-18th Century
Inlaid overall with quarter-veneering and scrolling banding, the rectangular moulded triple-flap gateleg top enclosing a plain playing-surface and beneath it a further playing-surface with inset baize-lined panels, above the main carcase concealing two yellow silk-lined double compartmented wells and a further secret well, the frieze above moulded cabriole legs terminating in hoof feet, restorations and replacements to the angle brackets
