Album containing fifty-two albumen prints, twelve carte-de-visite-size, others approx. 9 x 11½ in., twenty-nine signed Stretton (11), Bourne (18) and numbered in the negatives, numbered in sequence from 57-108 in pencil on recto, titled in English and German in ink and numbered in pencil on mounts, full green calf, decorative stamped border, titled in gilt on front cover, oblong 4to.

Several views around Bombay, Calcutta, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Sikandra including a view showing Bourne's studio on Rampart Row, Bombay; street views, the Elephanta caves; a view inside Fort William, Calcutta; 'Old Court House Street', Calcutta; harbour views; several views of the Taj Mahal and twelve portrait studies of workers and servants.

W.G. Stretton advertised himself as a 'marine photographer' and sometimes styled himself as 'Captain'. He operated from a studio in Bombay c.1870-72 and in Calcutta c. 1875-80.
