A GROUP OF FIVE FAMILLE VERTE 'MONTH' CUPS
ENCIRCLED KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD
Each finely decorated in delicate enamels and underglaze-blue with emblematic flowers representing five different months including: the first month painted with flowering prunus (mei) shrub and narcissus and bamboo, making up three of the 'Four Gentlemen sprouting from rockwork'; the third month painted with a luxuriant blossoming peach tree (taohua) growing from a grassy plane; the fifth month painted with a flowering pomegranate tree (shiliu) bearing yellow fruit; the eighth month painted with a flowering osmathus tree (guihua) with spreading branches above a hare to the left; and the eleventh month painted with narcissus (shixian) and a single rose in front of a garden rock (cracks, one with a small restored chip)--2 3/4in.
