Modelled as classically-draped male and female herms respectively, each holding aloft acanthus-wrapped scrolled branches with ribbed circular drip-pans and nozzles, the tapering backplate with flowerheads and foliate boss

These wall-lights are identical to those almost certainly supplied to the duc Louis-Henri de Bourbon, great-grandson of the Grand Condé, which were removed during the French revolution, and remained untraced. A further pair of this model is in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (H.Ottomeyer, P.Pröschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich 1986, vol. I, p. 62, fig. 1.9.10)
