a fine late 19th century lacquered brass framed tortion galvanometer signed on the horizontal scale Siemens & Halske Berlin, the scale divided in two full and two part-quadrants with vernier adjustment, the needle with supplementary scale encased within a glass cylinder, the cover with tortion wire adjustment, with three key plugs for the 10, 100, 1,000 resistance bars, over five contact points arranged as a keyboard with spring contact and single plug, the mahogany base stamped 3814 and mounted on three adjustable feet, contained in the original drum-shaped chamois leather lined storage carrying case with protective cover - 9¾in. (24.7cm.) high
