The trunk with 'ears' flanking a door with ebonised banding, brass bezel to the 21½in. diameter white painted Roman dial with subsidiary seconds ring to the centre, signed James McCabe/Royal Exchange/LONDON/1462 (dial repainted), brass hands, the substantial five pillar twin train weight-driven and five pillar movement with shouldered plates, deadbeat escapement and quarter strike on large bell -- 53½in.
