A George III mahogany longcase clock
The hood with stepped and moulded arch cresting, later bevelled glass, breakarch glazed side panels, with breakarch trunk door, the plain plinth on raised skirting, the 12in. wide brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with subsidiary silvered seconds disc and date aperture, signed on a silvered circular disc in the arch 47/Andr.w Bell/HADINGTON, pierced and blued steel hands, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, with later seatboard; movement and dial probably associated to case, circa 1780 -- 90in. (228cm.) high
