This type of necklace is well-known in the mid-3rd Century A.D. and is widely distributed around the Mediterranean from Eastern Europe to Egypt. The symmetrical wave motif is closely paralleled in a necklet from the Nikolaevo Treasure from Bulgaria, cf. exhibition catalogue, Gold der Thraker, Mainz, 1979, no. 454
