AN ITALIAN MARBLE BUST OF NAPOLEON I without arms, 19th Century on an ebonised plinth with paper label inscribed in ink:
A copy of a bust of Napoleon I modelled from life, while he was in the Isola Bella immediately before the Battle of Ihorengo (sic).
It was executed by a sculptor at Ferrara for the Duke of Melze (sic) A.D.C. to Napoleon, the original in the Fitzwilliam Museum, this was bought at ...... 1846 and given to ... M.P.
