Another version of the same subject was sold by the Executors of the late Major Eustace Robb, Tew Park, Oxon, Christie's house sale, 27-29 May 1987, lot 69. It was clearly a subject that was considered highly suitable; Alexander Pope specifically bequeathed his version to the "silver-tongued" lawyer and politician, William Murray (d.1793), later 1st Earl of Mansfield
