An identical clock with dial signed Baillon à Paris is illustrated in H. Ottomeyer/P. Pröschel et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol.I, p.192, fig.3.11.3. The design is taken from no.58 in the Livre de desseins sold by Violet for 171 livres. This is possibly Jean-François Violet, maître-fondeur in 1756.
