Each with scrolling fluted backplate centred by a band of entrelac and surmounted by a cabochon-edged plinth with a laurel-swagged two-handled flaming urn, issuing three scrolling fluted and acanthus-cast branches terminating in foliate circular drip-pans with cabochon edge and acanthus nozzle, above a gadrooned base, fitted for electricity, one urn replaced

These wall-lights, save for the flaming-urn finial which is replaced by berried foliage, are of an identical model to a pair sold anonymously at Sotheby's New York, 21 May 1994, lot 110. Two further pairs with identical scrolling branches and guilloche backplate were sold anonymously at Sotheby's London, 25 November 1988, lot 80 and 30 November 1990, lot 158
