The blade iorimune, hirazukuri with carving bo-hi on the omote and ken on the ura, curve (uchi-zori), forged with itame and tempered edge of suguha with nioi, ko-maru boshi, tang with two holes, machi-okuri, Sengo school of Ise, 25.4cm., in shirasaya; the mounts, roiro nuri lacquer scabbard with a design of sprinkled cut-straw, bearing shibuichi kojiri carved with peony in fine kebori, shakudo kurikata in the form of karashishi with a peony in its mouth, early shakudo ishime-ji uragawara decorated with chrysanthemums in low relief gilt, one scabbard mount in the form of two gold karashishi in the style of Goto Renjo, shibuichi kozuka carved with pine tree in kebori, signed and kao, the kashira in the form of a seated karashishi in gold inlay shakudo, the tsuka cloth bound over polished same lacquered in gold bearing a pair of shibuichi menuki in the form of seated karashishi
