Signed Sasaki Kazu (saku) nori (probably Kazunori), 19th Century

The blade iorimune, hirazukuri with dragon horimono to each side, forging pattern nashi-ji, flamboyant tempered edge of small and medium cloves (choji) with strong ashi of nioi in a manner of Bizen Sukenaga, tang machi-okuri, signed Manju..ya and dated Bunsei jyuni tsuchino toshi hachigatsu kichijitsu, (1829), Sasaki kazu saku nori, tsutsushinde kitaeru hori do saku, 32cm., in a black lacquered scabbard with falling maple leaves and cherry blossoms in gilt hiramakie, the fuchi-kashira, kurikata kojiri and all scabbard mounts en suite of silver with cherry trees, birds and flowers with signature Tomei, the kozuka and kogai similarly decorated, and with signature Issai Tomei and kao, menuki depicting the emperor Hwang Ti in a charriot being pulled by a dragon, the other with the mounted warrior with halberd and riding a horse at full gallop, the details in gilt and shakudo takazogan
