A FRENCH EMPIRE SILVER-GILT TRAVELLING SERVICE

Comprising a two-handled covered bouillon on spreading base with stand, an egg-cup, a salt-cellar, a cup with saucer, a ford, spoon, teaspoon, gilt-bladed knife and steel-bladed knife.
The bouillon with two handles shaped as putti holding laurel swags, the border applied with palms, flowers and masks on matted ground, the cover engraved with laurel wreath, the finial shaped as a butterfly, the stand applied with rim similar to the bouillon;
the egg-cup and the salt-cellar each on square base resting on four paw-feet, the salt-cellar with liner, the cup with similar rim and scroll handle applied with masks, the saucer engraved with laurel swags and palm and flower frieze, the spoons and fork chased with doves, lion masks, fruit and flower garlands, the knives with mother-of-pearl handles, each piece engraved with monogram AMQ in escutcheon, in original red leather fitted case also stamped AMQ in gilt.
