The format of this bookplate is typical of fraktur design associated with Bucks County. A related songbook in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Garvan, fig. 4, p.323) is inscribed, "This little harmonious melody book belongs to Elizabeth Laederman - Student in the Deep Run Mennonite School. Written May 8th 1823." Similarities in design and inscription between these two drawings and two songbook plates illustrated in FLP 200 and 201 suggest the artist of this bookplate may have travelled routinely between Hilltown, Plumstead and Bedminster Townships. This drawing is included in the Bucks County Fraktur Survey.
