The eight-lobed vessel raised on a silver bracket foot and applied at the shoulders with eight silver dragon-head and ring mounts, the cover surmounted by a silver finial cast in the form of an eagle, decorated on each lobe with a shaped, fundame panel inlaid in mother-of-pearl, coral, colored ivory and horn with birds and flowers and outlined in silver, the ground surrounding the panels and covering the jar gyobu, additionally decorated on the shoulders above the silver dragon-head fittings in gold hiramaki-e with paulownia blossoms, the silver bracket foot enamelled with elaborate sprays of flowers, the interior nashiji, signed on the base in an inlaid mother-of-pearl cartouche--10 1/8in.
