The case of break-arch form with domed pediment surmounted by a flambeau urn finial with crescent moon surmount, gilt-brass flowerhead trellis sound frets flanked by similar finials with crescent moon surmounts, elaborate foliate cast sound frets to the sides with handles, the chamfered angles applied with trailing floral caryatids, the moulded base on foliate scroll brass feet, the re-painted dial signed Webster Cornhill London within the Roman chapter ring with pierced gilt-brass hands, the arch with eight tune selection for GAVOT/GIG/MINUET/LASS OF PATTIESMILE/GAVOT/MINUET/GIG/MARCH, with blued steel selector hand, subsidiary rings below for strike/silent and chime/silent, the massive five pillar movement with four fusees (wire lines), the music playing on thirteen bells via thirteen hammers and transverse mounted 8 in. long pin barrel, pendulum holdfast to the border-engraved backplate signed Rd. Webster Exchange Alley, London; the cross-banded pedestal flanked by detached brass reeded Ionic columns, the base with flanking concave moulded supports
