TWO CARVED RHINOCEROS HORN LIBATION CUPS
17th/18th century
The first of rectangular shape forming a spout to one side and deeply carved and pierced with a double-loop handle with a gui-dragon grasping at the rim to the other side, the exterior carved in low relief with a wide cell-pattern band, the everted rim incised with a narrow key-fret band, the highly polished surface of a warm honey-brown colour, some chips to rim, aperture at base; the second similarly carved with a gui-dragon and C-scroll handle in high relief and standing on a pedestal foot, the colours ranging from pale amber to darker reddish brown at the interior, minor chips
