The arms are those of Du Pre impaling those of Maxwell, as borne by James Du Pre of Wilton Park, Co. Bucks, who married Madelina, 2nd daughter of Sir William Maxwell, 4th Bt. of Monreith, Wigtownshire, in 1801. Born in 1778, he served as High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1825 and died in 1870.
